A
New Ecuador
Law Requires A Financial Report from Everyone.
If you have a residency visa, and if the value of your possessions
(including investments) is more than $200,000 for a single or $400,000
for a
couple, you must file this report with the SRI
(Ecuador equivalent
to the IRS). Even if the value is less, you still have record
keeping obligations.

Ecuador’s Southern Coast Has Typically Been One of
the Less Explored Regions for Expats. Find Out What You've
Been Missing.
Gary and I had the time of our lives exploring the coast with Ruy
Quevedo--
environmentalist, naturalist, life-long surfer and hunter.
Little did we know we'd be up to our ears in mud or dining on
rare seafood neither of us had ever heard of before!
Ruy is the owner/developer of Eco
Ecuador Living, a residential beachfront development
at Ayampe. Gary is the marketing manager for the project.
This article begins a 4-part report on the
delights of the southern section of the Route of the Sun between
Guayaquil and
Ayampe. You'll feel as if you are with us when you read this
story and look at the pictures.
Primavera II
Condominiums and Gardens in Cotacachi is Almost Sold Out!
Only 5 of the original 32 condo units are still available and they
won’t last long. Builder Jorge Quilumbaqui is now
constructing 7 townhouses and 2 adobe casitas on this incredible 2
½ acre piece of Cotacachi real estate.
Last Friday
a Panamanian expat arrived in Cotacachi to “rent for a year
and check out the town.” Today, he's making an
offer on
a property. Cotacachi is
hot! Many of you
have been thinking about buying at Primavera II. But it’s now at the
point where, “You snooze, you lose.”
