Important Ecuador Travel Tip
Regarding $100 Dollar Bills

Ecuador uses the American dollar as its currency, which makes it very nice and easy for travelers. However, it's almost impossible to cash a $100 bill, even in a bank!  It is equally difficult to cash traveler’s checks, unless you are in a large chain hotel.

Best to bring $20 bills or smaller, and an ATM card.  ATM machines are every where, but be aware that most only allow a $500 maximum withdrawal per day.  Also be sure to notify your bank that you will be traveling in a foreign country, or they may block use of your card for security reasons.
