Pro-Ecuador Newsletter: The Ugly Americans Are Back in Ecuador--
Are You One of Them? Take the Test.

May 15, 2013

A View from The Roof:  Are Ugly Americans running rampant in Ecuador?  Gary weighs in on a subject that has become a hot topic in Ecuador forums and expat blogs. Take the test to find out if you may be one and don't even know it!

Ecuador_News--Death,_Debt_and_Petro-Dollars:  Indigenous declare they will fight to the death, Correa continues with plans to auction off parts of the Amazon to foreign oil companies and Ecuador's debt to China rises into the billions of dollars. These 3 current situations are all dangerously intertwined. It's like taking a loan from Louie the Lip. You don't want to miss a payment so you auction off your mother; in this case, Pachamama.

Adios Cotacachi, Hello California:  Gary and Linda decide it’s time for a hemispheric change.  Find out what's going on.

Pro-Ecuador Welcomes Su-Yin:  Our new associate, multi-talented Su-Yin Chan, will be wearing many hats.  She’s now working behind the scenes as administrator/webmaster to keep the Pro-Ecuador newsletter and blog running smoothly.  Su-Yin will also express her unique voice in blogs, articles, videos and photos as she shares her Ecuador journey with all of us.

Cascadas Azul: Su-Yin and her partner Simon discover an amazing waterfall in a nature reserve near Mindo.

Plant, Pray, Eat--The Three Sisters:  The most auspicious time to invoke the spirits of De-o-ha-ko, or Our Sustainers, has arrived. But Gary and I are participating in this spring ritual in California, not Ecuador.

ProEcuadorNews: Interact with us on our new Facebook Page. Su-Yin specializes in Social Media, so we are revamping our look. I think you will like it. If you do, click the page "Like" button to get all the latest Ecuador news on your Facebook news feed.
