Tear-Gassed Again in Cotacachi: The final days of this year's ritual dancing and celebration during Cotacachi's Dance of San Juan led to violence and death among the revelers. White clouds of tear gas hung heavily over the central park area as indigenous males clashed with policemen. Gary and I were in the midst of the action when the tear gas went off.
